I get the /goto/ when i use a non-logged in chrome browser - incognito and human controlled. No CDP involved. Also get that path when I use Firefox not logged in. So I think the original article is making this too complicated.
same here using three different tech stacks to control chrome/edge, it all boiled down to using a signed-in profile or not. Firefox also provides the direct link whether or not it is signed in.

well, after hittting it a few times, logged in or not ff gives me the goto. so there is more there...
